There are several hiking trails within the park, but because of the park's fragile environment, backcountry hiking is strictly prohibited.

  • A’a Trail
  • Bonito Vista Trail
  • Lava’s Edge Trail
  • Lava Flow Trail – a 1-mi, wheelchair-accessible route at the base of the volcano.
  • Lenox Crater Trail

There are no restaurants, cafes, kiosks or anything like that in Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument. All food needs to be brought with you.
